MISSION
Our mission is to help organizations achieve appropriate balance between seemingly opposing forces in order to work optimally. For example, the pace of change and the new organizational complexities create the need to balance dualities such as structure and creativity, continuity and change, control and delegation, and so on.
Successful organizations learn, collaborate across differences, and empower their members while maintaining balance in a dynamic system. Consequently, we specialize in helping organizations develop three areas of competence: the creation of learning and change efforts; the strategic management of differences in the global context; and strengthening participation, collaboration and leadership.
Our programs are based on research that bridges the gap between disciplines, interests, people, networks, academics and practitioners. For example, we apply theories that focus attention on the intersection of race, gender, and class to address diversity issues in organizations. Our organizational interventions integrate theory and practice, involve the whole person in learning, focus on a dynamic systems approach to change, and use experiential learning methodologies.

Since 1975, the professionals of Chaos Management, Ltd. have travelled and worked in corporations, non-profits and educational institutions in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and the United States. STAFF
Evangelina Holvino is President of Chaos Management Ltd., and a consultant and facilitator who has been working in the USA, Europe, Southeast Asia, West Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean since 1979 specializing in group and organizational approaches to social change. She was a professor at the School for International Training in Vermont, has designed and co-taught new courses at the University of Massachusetts in multicultural organization development and organization development in alternative settings, and was an adjunct faculty member at The American University where she designed and taught the course, "Group Theory and Facilitation."
She publishes articles and makes presentations on issues of race, gender, and class in organizations. Evangelina has a doctorate in organization development from the University of Massachusetts. She has served on the board of directors at the Boston Center of the A.K. Rice Institute and also NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Sciences, is a research associate with the Gast�n Institute for Latino Community Development and Public Policy, and a senior research fellow with the Center for Gender in Organizations, Simmons Graduate School of Management.
James Cumming is a principal of Chaos Management Ltd. and has over 25 years experience working as an international educator and consultant in technical, intercultural contexts within both public and private sectors in Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East, and the United States. He brings extensive experience facilitating multicultural and multinational groups and addressing issues of language, culture, and power differences. He also specializes in creating effective conditions for dialogue, learning, and change in groups, organizations, and communities using approaches such as the Future Search Conference.
He has master's degrees in design engineering and international management, and a doctorate in international education from the University of Massachusetts. He is adjunct faculty at the School for International Training. Other professional affiliations include: Future Search Network; The International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations; The International Foundation for Action Learning; and The Multicultural Mediation Team of the University of Massachusetts.
