A 5-day skill-building educational program for Verizon employees at all levels in the organization

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Come join us for an interactive experience in personal power and professional development. Participants will build a learning environment to assess and enhance their own leadership potential through the use of a variety of activities such as small group work, readings, discussions and experience-based exercises. We will explore organizational roles and culture; leadership skills; the changing environment in the new organization; Latino/Hispanic identity; managing conflict and differences; and career development and action planning.
IN THIS INTENSIVE PROGRAM WE WILL:

Assess the changing organizational environment and develop strategies to contribute to organizational effectiveness;
- Identify the competencies required for success in the new organization and develop appropriate career strategies;
- Identify key aspects of your individual and group identity and how that contributes to the dynamics of organizational life;
- Assess your own style of managing conflict and differences and practice skills to increase your effectiveness;
- Develop action plans for the future that reflect a commitment to increased professional development;
- Develop networks of support to strengthen your competence and effectiveness as Hispanic employees at Verizon.
FACILITATORS:
Evangelina Holvino
President of Chaos Management, Evangelina has a doctorate in organization development from the University of Massachusetts. She has been working as a consultant and facilitator since 1979 both in the USA and internationally specializing in group and organizational approaches to social change. She is a senior research fellow with the Center for Gender in Organizations, Simmons Graduate School of Management and has served on the board of directors at the Boston Center of the A.K. Rice Institute and also NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Sciences. Previously, she taught at the School for International Training in Vermont. She designed and facilitated two previous Verizon (Bell Atlantic) workshops for Hispanics.
Bernardo Ferdman
Consultant with Chaos Management, as well as Associate Professor in the Organizational Psychology Programs and Senior Consultant in the Organizational Consulting Center at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP), Bernardo has a doctorate in psychology from Yale University. He has been working as a consultant, teacher, and researcher for over 15 years on issues of diversity and multiculturalism in organizations, ethnic and cultural identity, and organizational behavior, and has published widely on these topics. Bernardo is the President-elect of the Interamerican Society of Psychology, a charter fellow of the International Academy of Intercultural Research, and previously taught at SUNY-Albany.
