What we mean: Collaboration

Collaboration means people working together to achieve results that would be impossible to achieve independent of each other. Collaboration requires interdependence, common ground, free flow of information, and mutual responsibility for outcomes and processes. Collaboration is a stance, a set of skills, an approach to differences and conflict, and a process. We don’t achieve it and are done; we just get better at it.

"In many systems, scientists now understand that order, conformity and shape are created not by complex controls, but by the presence of a few guiding principles."

Margaret Wheatley, Leadership and the New Science
